Montgomery Elementary Home & School Homeroom Parent Information2022 - 2023
Being a Homeroom Parent is a great way to become involved and participate in your child's class experience. Each class needs one (1) Homeroom Captain and two (2) Homeroom Parents. The Homeroom Captain acts as the teacher/parent liaison. The Captain will communicate and plan together with the Homeroom parents.
Homeroom Parent responsibilities include the following:
• Use Membership Toolkit as a means of communication for class emails and sign-ups. Training documents will be provided.
• Provide support to the teachers however possible throughout the school year.
• Coordinate class parties with the teacher - Fall Party 10/28/22, Winter Party 12/23/22, End of Year Party TBD
• Coordinate a teacher holiday gift
• Coordinate teacher appreciation week - May 1-5, 2023
• Take Photos during class parties and events that may take place in school. Encourage teachers to share their photos with you and share them with the yearbook committee
• KINDERGARTEN Homeroom Parents will be responsible for creating an end of the year slideshow/video.
Clearances are needed by all volunteers entering school during school hours. These clearances need to be turned into NPSD by October 17th, 2022 to be eligible. You can find the list of the three (3) required clearances on the district website at https://www.npenn.org/for_families/volunteers
PLEASE Sign up online via Membership Toolkit. Sign‐up will close on Friday September 9th, 2022. Notifications will go out by Wednesday,September 14th. Those selected must attend the Homeroom Captain/Parent Orientation meeting on September 19th from 6:30pm‐7:30pm via Zoom.
